The foundation of Beta Food was laid in 1978 in Adana, within a modest area of 6 square meters, originally functioning as a sole proprietorship. Initially engaging in the trade of non-food items, over time, it shifted its focus towards the food sector, where it saw potential for branding. In 1987, the company embarked on a branding journey within the tea sector, becoming the first company to introduce imported tea and tea bags to Turkey, thus acquainting Turkish tea consumers with a distinct taste palette. In the 1990s, seizing the opportunity to expand internationally, Beta Food has secured its place among the leading companies in various countries with its successful tea brands.

Globally active in the tea sector, Beta Food boasts four main brands: Beta Tea, Bayce, Champion, and Howdah Brand, along with a diverse portfolio in various categories through Beta A’la, Beta Caffito, Betum, Belita, Hacı Ali Delight, Benuta, and Besta. As Beta Food, we also operate in Iraq with our Besta brand, offering rice, chickpeas, lentils, wheat, beans, and with our Benuta brand, offering spreadable chocolate products. According to 2014 Euromonitor data, Beta Food has become the 12th largest tea company in the world and has achieved being the 3rd largest green tea brand with its Bayce brand. Our brands are registered in 90% of the world’s 208 countries and were declared a “Well-Known Brand” by the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office in 2016. In 2018, Beta Food established the first R&D Center in the Turkish tea sector, collaborating with universities, public institutions, and research institutes to bring innovative solutions to the food sector. With a team of experts including Tea Sommeliers and tea experts, Beta Food meticulously continues its R&D center activities, supporting scientific advancement and maintaining its leading role in the tea sector both in Turkey and worldwide. Our factory, nestled among the breathtaking tea gardens, mountains, and forests of Trabzon, meticulously produces and packages the highest quality tea leaves, grown in the most special soils that are miracles of the Black Sea nature. Today, Beta Food Inc. is among the top 10 companies with the highest volume of purchases at the Sri Lanka Tea Auction, the epicenter of the tea sector.
